Connect your site

Connecting a site takes two things: the site URL, and a credential Pressbotics can use to call the WordPress REST API as you. The wizard walks both.

Step 1 — site details

Enter your site URL. Pressbotics normalises it (scheme, www, trailing slash and case are all ignored when checking for duplicates) and probes the site to see what it supports.

Step 2 — connection

Path A: the companion plugin (recommended)

Install the free Pressbotics plugin, open its menu item in wp-admin, and use the one-click connection. The plugin creates the Application Password for you and shows the exact values to paste. This path also makes SEO fields writable.

Path B: Application Password

Create an Application Password in WordPress by hand and paste it in. Publishing, images, categories and tags all work. SEO fields do not — seo_status returns "unsupported" until the plugin is installed alongside Yoast or Rank Math.

Step 3 — policy

Choose whether agent posts publish directly or wait in your approval queue. You can change this per site at any time.

Step 4 — done

You get the site handle agents use in the site parameter, and the MCP server URL. Reconnecting a site you previously deleted is fine — Pressbotics revives the row and clears the old credential.
